terrible experience – My wife and I had an expired gift certificate to Roots. We called to see if it would still be honored and the lady we talked to said sure and we made a reservation. We drove 40 minutes out there. We ordered the works and went to pay with the certificate. Our waitress came back and said it had expired and is no longer any good. We explained how somebody had told us the night before that it would be honored and she went to check with the owner. Again she came back and said no good. We asked to see the own... read more

Decent food, especially if you live in the area... – Not sure how I ended up all the way out here but would probably come back (but not go out of my way to eat here) The "Couve" needs more places like this, competition = better food. With that said, everything I had was just "okay" nothing really stood out. The blackened Ribeye was good, nothing to write home about. Service, drinks, portions, minimalist decor --all were top notch. Just work on the flavors, suburban restaurants need to take chances with a few innovative dishe... read more

Seasonal Northwest cuisine and big-city style tucked in a corner of the Riverstone Marketplace in Camas' Prune Hill. – In Short The dining room here features sleek chrome-and-walnut chairs paired with ash tables as well as romantic booths made private by a woven copper divider. Stylish guests sip cocktails in the spacious lounge anchored by an impressive granite bar. Chef-owner Brad Root interprets Northwest cuisine with a French accent. The cassoulet of beans comes with house-made sausage, smoky bacon and duck confit. Meat ... read more

what happened? – i've experienced roots a few times in the past (meeting friends in the bar) -- always fun. happy hour menu is one of the best; the drinks always great. the lady bartender rocks! a very different experience in the restaurant: food really good; wine selection nice; ambience terrible; waiter inconsiderate, tactless. problem began with seating. there was some confusion as to whether we would just be enjoying a glass of wine or would dine. our choices were to wait for a seat in the bar area or sit at an available... read more

A little disappointed – Chose this restaurant for my GF B-day after reading all the glowing reviews. Went there and had a hard time finding the front door. Once I entered the restaurant, I was given a lukewarm greeting by the hostess. Going through the restaurant I found that it is quite small and the enviroment was very loud, I was expecting it to be much larger and the atmosphere romantic. We usually go to Portland City Grill for her B-day but not this time. Now the good part, the food was delicious it was prepared excepti... read more

Eat at Roots, it's incredible! – My husband and I have been dining at Roots restaurant since they opened in our neighborhood. They have the most incredible food and drinks (using local and organic ingredients whenever possible, a double-plus!)...highly recommended! The staff is awesome too - especially Dave the bartender, he's knowledgeable, funny and makes the BEST drinks in town!! A+++

Roots is the best restaurant in Vancouver – I have never had a more consistent, perfect place to have food and drinks than Roots. The drinks are perfect. The food is incredible. All fresh, local products... The bartender, Dave, is always friendly and entertaining. A+...

Great local spot! – We visited Roots for the first time, My wife and daughter were quite pleased with the service. We were greated warmly by everyone, it is some times hard to bring a toddler to a nice place, but our server maid us feel welcome. The Bartender even maid a point to check on our drinks showing that he realy cared. Our dinner was outstanding my wife still talks about the moose cake a week later. We will definently be back. cheers!
