The root of you salon is a very nice looking salon. I have to break this review into parts because I had a good and bad experience there. I wanted to give them a horrible review because there were a few things that happened while I was there that really pissed me off, but overall it wasn't that bad. The front desk staff is wonderful! Now moving on to the shampoo staff they are rude, rude, rude,loud and (for lack of a better word) GHETTO! Great Stylists, not-so-great hours and prices – Rating: 5 stars for hair magic Rating: 3 stars for PRICING and available hours I would recommend this place to friends who don't mind spending lots of money on their hair. It's a special ocassion salon for me. Toni and Prensetta have done a fab job for me. Maybe I'd go more often if they had later hours. Good Results – I've been a client at the Root of You for nearly two years and have always been pleased with my service at the salon. My stylist is Tajuana, and she always does an amazing job. Being natural, I am always fearful of stylist applying too much heat when pressing my hair but I have never had problem with that at this salon.

Horrible attitudes - worst customer service in Houston. – Horrible, horrible experience. I won't be back. After receiving a salon gift card, I called to schedule an appointment two weeks in advance for an Express manicure and haircut. Great Service – I have been going to the Root of You for a few years now and I always have great experiences. The staff members are always nice, greet me by name, utilize the best products for my hair, and overall demonstrate a genuine interest in my hair. This is a professional environment that knows how to make a customer feel comfortable. Refreshments such as water, tea or wine are routinely offered or just a brief "check-in" is often asked while sitting under the dryer. The Root of You - Best In Business – My best friend referred me to the salon about two years ago. I needed services for my daughter. I am SO glad she did. The salon is professional and the customer service outstanding. LaRuth is my child's stylist and she is always on time, friendly and does great work. Worst Service Ever!! – My daughter and I had gone to this salon last year. I had gotten a relaxer and my daughter, being that she is natural had gotten twists. First of all, they had a hard time combing through my daughter's curls and were very impatient. The stylist was combing so hard my daughter began to cry.
