Dr. Hugate is a highly skilled surgeon who identified problems with a TKR that I had last year performed by someone else. I was referred to him by another surgeon that felt Dr. Hugate is the best surgeon to address and correct what was wrong with my knee. Dr. Hugate was a 2nd opinion for me and I appreciated how committed he was to get to the bottom of my problem - something my 1st opinion didn't do. The news was pretty bad and he was very sympathetic and kind while I processed everything. Also, Maggie is so sweet. I was upset and she got me chocolate to help me feel a bit better! :D Plus she's been very easy to work with and contact. Appointments are quick to make which is great.
I highly recommend Dr Hugate. He is highly skilled, well versed in the latest orthopedic techniques / developments, and explains options & procedures to a lay person in an easy to understand way.

Dr. Hugate is the most knowledgeable and skilled revision surgeon around. I've had 7 major orthopedic surgeries from a traumatic injury. Having worked with Dr Hugate on 2 of them, I will say that Dr Hugate and his team are the best I've experienced - both in surgical/hospital phase, AND overall satisfaction and recovery. Both my husband and I had knee replacements with Dr. Hugate. He comforted me when I was scared out of my wits. Didn’t pressure me at all and talked me down. All follow ups went well and questions answered. Staff always called back to answer any questions we had. We both feel like he’s a friend, not just our doctor!
Dr. Hugate made me feel heard about my concerns and I felt confident from the start that he would do a great job. I was not disappointed. He has an excellent track record that you can trust. Also his bedside manner is pleasant and caring.
