I donated blood at the 6th Street location on April 3, 2020. While waiting, I noticed that the lobby is looking shabby. No one was wearing masks. Two people had scrubs on, the reminder were in jeans and tshirts. I have given blood there many times over the years, but will not be going back.
RecommendedPLEASE DONATE. Blood is always needed. The staff told me that donations are down during the say at home order. If you are able call (815) 965-8751 or visit www.rrvbc.org and schedule an appointment now. Give the gift of life, straight from the heart.
RecommendedI don't review on Facebook a lot but had the opportunity to donate through Be The Match at Rock River Valley Blood Center. Honestly a top-notch staff. Over-the-top friendly, the nurses know their stuff, management seems like they really care about what they do. They will do everything in their power to help you feel more comfortable about the process (which with stem cell donations are 4 hours of not moving one or both arms). Very impressed with everything. Highly recommend.

RecommendedI just want to thank you for doing what you all do!!!!! I went to the ER at St. Anthony Hospital with a hemoglobin of 2.5 and received 8 units of blood while I was there. Your donors truly saved my life. I wish I could personally thank the ones who gave me their blood but this will have to do. I am unable to donate now since having the transfusion but I will definitely be promoting blood drives and the donating of blood for the rest of my day!! Again I am truly grateful! Kim Chatman
