There’s a communication issue; he doesn’t seem to be able to interact on a personal level. After getting a second opinion, it raised questions.When asked about the recurrent pain that occurred a year after surgery, he simply blew it off with “you have increased arthritis,” citing my age. Totally understand poor reviews. Argued with me that my husband did not have MRI, so I pulled up on my IU health to show him he did. Told my 63 year old husband with herniated disc, bulging disc and narrowing of areas in his spine, he compared to standing on a garden hose, that his muscles had the memory of an 18 year old and he should exercise like that and loose some weight and he would need nothing more. I am. Nurse Practitioner and never seen anyone told anything this stupid. Never would recommend him to anyone!
He explains issues so plainly and thoroughly; very patient. I have had 6 spinal surgeries for osteo arthritis requiring multiple fusions for each surgery. The outcome for each intervention was just as he said it would be, always a tremendous improvement to my health and well being.. A truly conscientious surgeon and human.
My husband had a cyst growing inside of his spinal column causing severe pain and a dropped foot. Due to my husband's weight, regular MRI machines were not giving a clear enough picture. Dr. Huler finally found an enclosed MRI machine made for heavier patients. He said he wanted to know exactly what he was dealing with and what he needed to do before operating. I had a strep infection. It settled in my spine, he made an 18 inch incision and got it all out saving my life in the process. I had nine fusions done, and it took away my chronic back pain. He does excellent work.
Dr. Huler preformed a spinal fusion with titanium rods for a broken C2, and damaged spinal cord. He personally called me when I had questions. Lisa who is his right hand is also amazing. Both Dr.’s are extremely professional, knowledgeable, and caring. I highly recommend them. I don’t think there is a better Dr anyone could find.
Dr. Huler did a fantastic job on my lower back surgery. Very knowledgeable, and treated my case with care and compassion. Highly recommend Dr. Huler. He gave me back my life!
If I could give a 0 I would. He was very rude, would not listen, kept interrupting and saying I think way too much. I actually went to the desk and asked to be paired with another doctor for another opinion.
Dr. Huler and his entire staff are very knowledgeable in the type of care that is needed for your care for better health.*****
