All the negative reviews you are reading below are 100% true. If you get referred to this GI from your primary care physician, I would strongly recommend asking for an alternate referral. I have never in my entire life experienced such an unprofessional medical environment as I did in my six months at Dr. Safdar's office. They are incredibly overbooked. If they had about half the patients that they currently take, i'm sure the office staff would have a much easier time scheduling procedures. However, they are maxed out beyond... read more

He works with "Ironwood Gastroenterology, PLLC". Don't trust this doctor. I just received a bill for services provided and paid for in 2017. I don't know if I am being gouged or if his record-keeping is inept, but billing me 1 1/2 years after service is seems a sad attempt at collecting more money. My insurance is pursuing this matter with him. Who needs hidden costs and late billing? Bad business.

Dr. Safdar asked very few questions, listened briefly, and seemed unfamiliar with the paperwork and lab information my primary care physician sent over. Then he vanished with no explanation and I sat, waiting for him to return, for over half an hour. Eventually I went to find a medical assistant to see if they had forgotten about me. Apparently they had. Dr. Safdar reappeared shortly and tossed out a breezy recommendation that made no sense given my symptoms. It's hard to imagine practicing medicine without taking the time t... read more

I saw Dr Safdar late January. It is now April and I still have no answer to results on the scan he ordered. Dr Safdar's visit was brief, acting only on my primary doctor's report. I preceived little caring or interest. Trying to communicate with the office is an effort in futility. I do not recommend this office unless you enjoy frustration.

Office very disorganized. Dr. Safdar is not a good listener and is a bit arrogant. Not a good choice for healthcare

I was ready to switch to another Dr. However, I am pleased at how much Dr. Safdar have improved in my care. Since 3/1 todate of 3/21 he have really stepped up his interest and patience in explaining my dx & care-plan. If only he had been this caring from the previous years visits, I would not need to have bad-rate him. His intelligence and pt are are now commendable. I'm sure it was there all along. So if you get an apptmt w/him, just shake him up a little from start. You'll have a ?? Doc.

This was the worst experience I ever had with a doctor in my life. It has been 3 days since my colonoscopy and nothing is normal. They said they were going to call me today Friday with the results. And I finally got a call Friday evening at 5:10 from one of their secretaries just telling me to go to the emergency room that's it. Do not ever go to this doctor you will be very sorry

Excellent doctor. He communicates clearly and confidently. My wife and I both had procedures performed by him. His staff was efficient, caring, very helpful and easy to work with. I would highly recommend this doctor. He currently serves patients in Sierra Vista so no need to travel to Tucson or wait 6 months for an appointment with other docs.
