The food at the new Swamp Shack, formerly On The River, was very good. The new menu has lots of Cajun dishes plus some of the old favorites. The dirty rice was very good and the beignets were fabulous! Same wonderful owner, Drew.
Huge disappointment, we will never go back. Definitely sticking to on the river which is where I wish we would have gone today. They no longer serve the corn bread and salads like they used to, menu doesn’t have a big variety like it used to as well! Plus the dirty rice really did taste dirty and dry!! My fried oysters were burnt. We went there to celebrate my birthday.. I guess they don’t sing happy birthday and bring out cheese cake anymore either.
Food was awesome and cobbler was really good!!!

Ate there yesterday and the stuffed flounder with the Pontchartrain sauce was the best i ever had. My wife had the fried shrimp. She said it was the best she ever had. Thanks for the great food and service.

I love the atmosphere. but mostly I love the chicken fried steak.....lol it's as good or better than Kelly's. and I'd eat at Kelly's every other day if there was one close.
