These guys are awesome. If you live in Charlottesville you gotta do a trip through these guys, don't let the summer slip by without doing it. Everyone I've dealt with at Rivanna River Company are friendly, its really affordable, and if you haven't gotten out on the Rivanna it gives you a whole new perspective of this great city. I cannot endorse them enough.
My husband got me a guided river trip for my b-day; we had an excellent time. Gabe was a fantastic guide-- he is extremely personable, and knows a lot about the ecology and history of the river. We saw a bald eagle, several blue herons, geese, a turtle, a raven, and two baby deer swimming across the river. The second half of the trip, in particular, was amazingly beautiful and serene-- especially since the trip starts so close to downtown C-ville. We definitely plan to go again next spring/summer.
Gabe escorted my husband and myself down the Rivanna for a wonderful SUP trip. He was a great teacher and encourager. We both had a blast and will definitely be back. Everyone should try it out!
