The Railroad closed their doors before I could go on my excursion. Lost out on this plus I had prepaid online so I won't ever get my money back. There was no response to emails or phone calls either.

The experience of a lifetime! Even though it isn’t as well known as other railroads like Cumbres and Toltec or Durango and Silverton, it was still just as good. I sat in the full length dome car on the way (the windows could’ve been a bit cleaner) and enjoyed that. The attendants suggested a grocery store in La Veta to get ice cream from and boy, were they right. That ice cream was great! It got even better on the way back. I stood on the back of the open air observation at the back. It was great!!! In fact, I would have giv... read more
