36.5 Years ago this hospital and its surgeons saved my life. I was a six month old baby who had stage 3 neuroblastoma cancer. They perform surgery and I had radiation that followed. While I have little recollection of the hospital my parents have nothing but good to say about the hospital and its staff. No worse can express the gratitude for the Lord using Riley to help me enjoy every day. Thank you to each one!... I am sure they are as dedicated now as they were then.
My experience at RileyHospital for Children with my son and daughter was awesome. The entire staff goes above and beyond just patient care. I am so thankful that we went there. Special thanks to the Rehabilitation unit and therapist...... no words can explain how grateful I am and wonderful they are.
This place saved my nephew's live a hundred times. And for that we got to spend 15 amazing years with him. I dont know if any one remembers Austin Matthew Irvine. Now Washburn. He was a amazing boy filled with joy. He did pass a way there in January of 2013. Keep up all the good work u do.
My son was diagnosed with Craniosynostosis and had the surgery this past Monday. He is 3 months old. We were so nervous about his surgery, because of how serious of a surgery it was and him being so little.. Dr. Laurie Ackerman is his dr & performed the surgery. She eased our nerves, was very informative & nice. While he was in surgery we were in the family lounge and there was a nurse coming in to talk to us and let us know how our baby was doing! My children have been going to Riley ever since they've been born. My son is a 26 week preemie weighing only 1.5 pounds and I was so scared the first time his apnea monitor went off and they admitted him to the hospital but the staff at Riley helped calm me down and now whenever he has to be admitted to the hospital I'm less scared now
Wonderful staff in the opthamalogy department. My daughter has received such great care here and they take such great care of the parents also. Dr. Plager is phenomenal.
I have donated to Riley many times. So imagine my disappointment when my son needed services and we were turned away. Riley doesn't accept our insurance and state law prohibits them from taking out-of-pocket payments. So what about pro bono services? They don't offer those. So sad when you consider the fact that they have always advertised that they never turn any child away regardless of inability to pay. Clearly that is untrue.
GI services are great! Our local hospital was puzzled but Riley has my son happy and thriving.
