Founded in 2004 with the vision of quality, I thought that if we never compromised the quality of our food, and served meals in a comfortable, relaxed surrounding with warm, friendly service… people would keep coming back. It worked! And, we’ve never changed our vision. I gave my name to the restaurant out of a sincere sense of pride and confidence in our menu and staff. We pledge to maintain high quality standards so we can enjoy your valued patronage again and again. We look forward to showing you a fabulous d... read more

Way overrated – We went to Rey's with a large group (10 adults and 5 children) for a special occasion. We were seated in one of the private rooms. Although service was excellent, the food and drinks were ordinary at best. The martinis were just okay. I had the Hurricaine martini which was only vaguely reminiscent of the famous drink served in New Orleans. I followed that with a Maker's Mark martini (I forgot what they call it but it was supposed to be a New Orleans version of the Manhattan) which was not very good at all and... read more
Been There, Done That, Don't want the T-shirt – My husband and I recently spent our 9th anniversary with a dinner at Rey's. Probably not the best choice. Although the ambience is nice, our servers kept changing. One took the entree order, one pour the water, one took the dessert order and the check. Good grief! Maybe we smelled bad. Oh well. The dinner was mediocre. Nothing to write home about. The chicken piccata was a bit chewy, and could have been bursting with flavor, but someone missed the mark. The creme brulee should ... read more
Amazing food – I really enjoyed dining there. Though it is far away for me (N. Raleigh), I think I'll make the trip frequently. My wife said her filet mignon was the best she's ever had. My waiter was great, the chef came out and spoke with diners, and the owner made the rounds as well- a nice touch. Afterwards, we went into their lounge and had a cigar. Loved it! Only downer is their wine selection doesn't match the other positive aspects- and a $25 or $50 corking fee is ridiculous.
Our favorite! – It is like Cheers! We have been quite a few times to dine at Rey's and EVERYONE knows our names. It is nice to be remembered and recognized. The food is exceptional and I highly recommend getting whatever the chef's nightly special is... we have not been disappointed yet! Oh, and you have to try the cheesecake - WOW! DELICIOUS!!!!!! Everything is homemade, from the bleu cheese dressing (best in town)to the chocolate raspberry truffle cake. (need I say more) Sometimes we eat in the lounge/bar rather than the d... read more
A Work in Progress – Waiters should be more knowledgeable but they make an effort. Crab cocktail was fresh. Remoulade had a balance of heat and flavor. Fried oysters would have benfited by salt and cayenne. Filet mignon was average needing more hollandaise. Only one tournados had crab. Quickly remedied but should have been caught before it left the kitchen. Grouper was superb. Bananas Foster was dessert, made personally by Rey. It took a while to get the ingredients set up at our table. By the time he was igniting the brandy... read more
excellent – I dined at Rey's with a large group and found the food and service to be superb. I would highly recommend this restaurant to friends.
Very Disapointed – I should have listened to the reviews... Rey's does not come close to "fine dining with a french quarter flare." The service was mediocre at best with little knowledge of the menu and far from fine dining expectations. The steaks were okay, little flavor to them, the Lyonnaise Potatoes were undercooked and not true lyonnaise -- the potatoes did not have the onion flavor as they should if cooked properly. The dessert I ordered, bread pudding, was obviously microwaved and spongy. Overall, not worth the expen... read more
Excellent steaks – I came here before attending a show and was suprised to find it quite empty. The steak was tasty and cooked perfectly-I shared the 22oz Beef Tenderloin in bordelaise sauce. Watch out for the plates, they heat the dinner plates to 400 degrees. I'd recommend getting additional sides of vegetables-the vegetables that were provided were a bit sparse and a bit dry-almost overcooked. The steak however made up for it, and the Brie appetizer was one of the better Brie spreads I've had.
Disappointing first visit – My husband and I recently took some business colleagues to Rey's for the first time. Our first impression was nice, as the lounge is an inviting place to have a drink by the fire. While the atmosphere was nice in the dining room, there was a noticable absence of background music. I ordered filet mignon, and found it to be extremely overcooked and tough to chew. I would have sent it back, but I did not want to draw attention to it while entertaining guests. Though friendly, the waiter was more suit... read more
