Renfrow's Hardware & General is like a piece of history What a fun place to shop even if you are not hunting for anything in particular. It's like an old time hardware store. They actually sold beeswax that I bought to make candles. The minute you walk in, you feel transported back in time.

Renfrow's Hardware & General is A CLASSIC! The place to find the hard to find! Soda Pop in a glass bottle, a soap bar that will get out any stain, and tomato plants were my last purchases from Renfrow's. The staff is informed and friendly. My daughter enjoys seeing the chicks. A great stop after strolling through the Matthews Farmer's Market on a Saturday morning.
Renfrows We love Renfrow's! It's become a weekly outing for us to go to the farmers market next door and then to Renfrow's to see the chickens and chicks. We've also gotten our tomato plants there, as well as a lot of great advice on our vegetable garden from the very knowledgeable staff there. They basically sell almost anything you'd want - from gardening supplies to cast iron pots and pans to canning supplies. Great old-timey hardware/general store!
Small town feel Renfrows is a great hardware store in the heart of Downtown Matthews. They have everything you are looking for including baby chickens and Ladybugs. I recommend getting a bottle coke and drinking it on the front steps and enjoy the small town feel.
Simply the Best – You can waste a lot of time and money if your shopping the large " hardware and home improvement stores" for your gardening and home supplies. You can fine almost anything there and If Renfrow's doesn't have it they will tell you where you can get it or order the item for you. # 1 in customer service in downtown Matthews . They have never let me down and I've shopped there since 1986 and gave up on the two other larger stores in the past 2 years
