I honestly don't know how this company is still in business. The products are good quality which is why they get 1 star but the customer service is hands down the worst i've ever received. I made an address error on an item that I personalized, my mistake. I called within minutes of placing the order and they cancelled the order because they could not change the address. Ok, cool. I attempted to order a desk blotter from Pottery Barn online. I mistakenly ordered a paper tray which was shown sitting on the blotter. When I tried to return the paper tray, I was told I could not because it was ineligible for return and I could not return it and apply the $40 I paid for it toward the purchase of the item I actually meant to order. West Elm sells merchandise that they do not have. When you order, the item shows as being in-stock and as soon as you submit your order it becomes backordered. They constantly change the delivery date AFTER they have charged you (I thought that was illegal?) Last week they sent the delivery company to my home with a glass top and no base to put it on. Called Pottery Barn to cancel order. Put on hold 10 minutes and told it was taken care of. I called back to confirm and was told by a second person they would cancel. They did not. Called a third time and that person told me the first two people did nothing to cancel the order, just told me they did. I was then told that they cannot always cancel orders and I would just have to deal with hassle of returning. I assume it will take weeks to get a refund. Will never order from Pottery Barn again.
Williams-Sanoma is NOT the store it was. In the past, I did not mind paying their inflated prices because they stood by their products. The return policy for them is now 90 days from the date of purchase, which was changed from the past. So if you purchase the beautiful $6,000 grill they have, you'd better hope all issues that may exist crop up within the first 30 days, or you're out of luck. I will NEVER buy furniture from Pottery barn kids again. Ordered a bed for my son that was suppose to be delivered mid October (six week delivery time). I called customer care when I didn't receive a call or email regarding a delivery set up date. I am extremely appalled by Pottery Barn Teen customer service. Ive spent over 5000$ at the online website and one of the items I had purchased is the “Boho Casual Canopy” for my daughters bed. The canopy came with no instructions or hardware for set up so I called customer service to get help. Upon calling 4 various times, I was told different with no solution. This is the worst company ever. Don't even want to go into the dumb details about receiving 2 sofas I ordered. But of course they are delayed. I have received zero updates. Ladies on the phone are rude about it and it is IMPOSSIBLE to talk to a manager. I've ordered so much from PB over the years and have problems every time I order something!! I'm done with PB forever. I hope they go out of business.
Although the initial salesperson was friendly and helpful everything has been down hill since then. DO NOT BUY FURNITURE from West Elm. I purchased a sectional over 4 months ago and have not gotten it and the customer service people know nothing and are not professional.
