I had the yard bird (fried chicken) it was perfectly cooked, very tender and seasoned to perfection. I also ordered the cornbread with honey butter which was great. The meal came with collared greens and sweet potatoes. The portions were generous. The wait staff were very attentive. My party of two had cocktails, and an appetizer, check was $138.00, this might be bit pricey for some budgets, but this is one of the most popular dining spots in Harlem.
Great space/vibe/ambiance. However, food and service were beyond subpar. This place is simply overhyped because of Marcus Samuelson, but that’s where it stops. Tried several things on the menu and nothing was worth a compliment. Service was really disorganized - we had fiver servers who all repeated the same thing.....missed several things and never checked after the meals arrived. Visited Red Rooster yesterday for lunch with my cousins. Food was fabulous! Beware of portion sizes on pre fixe menu. They could be larger..Regular menu portions are perfect..Would definitely visit again..
Ambiance and drinks were great, the main course was good, the deserts were underwhelming. I didn’t get the glove sales on the way out.
