This is the ultimate beef lover’s restaurant. For over 75 years the Red Osier has been noted for its prime rib dinner, which is carved and served tableside. Salty food – I ate here 12-30-2010. Had the Irish shepherd pie and prime rib soup. The food actually made me ill it was so salty. the service was great but they never asked how the food was. the comment link and the contact form on the site does not work. so they will not get my comments.
Wouldn't travel far to visit.. I think the prime factor affecting diners visits to this institution is the mere fact that it is an institution. They work hard to preserve an image that has been carefully cultivated to be a Steak/Beef orientated restaurant with a history. I have dined at the Red Osier Landmark more times than I can count over the past twenty years. Terrific food, great service, reasonable prices, and a really nice ambience and setting. Whether I bring a business client, my wife, my family or just meet some friends, it has always been a great experience. My friends, some from Buffalo, some from the Rochester area, who have gone there rave about their meals...and how welcome they feel.
