Absolutely awful – The service at this place is disgraceful. The bartenders are alright, but the hostess is miserable, the coat check lady "misplaced" four coats the night I was there, and the manager literally yelled at multple guests for not moving away from the bar fast enough after they ordered drinks. DON'T GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!!! IT IS A MISERABLE EXPERIENCE! I think Baltimore is lucky to have a place like Red Maple! – I must agree with CSMibileUser4- the negative reviews were very surprising to me! I do not usually write reviews BUT I know that people are much more inclined to make the effort to complain than to express satisfaction, and in the case of Red Maple I am afraid that is what is happening. Most fabulous spot in Baltimore! – I must say I am shocked at the two previous nega tive reviews on here. To each his own but they are obviously one-timers to Red Maple and I would hope you experience it for yourself instead of taking their word for it. Utterly Disgusting! – Very unprofessional staff! the manager, laughed when we complained about this DJ being forceful and abusive with a lady friend of ours. Even the bouncer ignored our complaint, which was firm but polite! The music was really bland and unoriginal and the DJ left his booth while songs were playing from a cd for atleast 20 minutes!! Lackluster and Sad – I think "Red Maple" may be a euphemism for "hell." The wait-staff are friendly, but, there is a feeling of "I may not be cool enough to be here." I'm not sure who this bar is geared toward. The clientele is a schizophrenic mix of Urban Haute Bourgeoisie and straight-up hoochies who might either be prostitutes or students from the Peabody. Baltimore nightlife has reached a whole new low! – Throughtout any modern clubber's life there come moments, when all seems lost to boredom and snobbism. Been there, done that. Hmm food, ordered some but never got it – So we went there for my friends birthday, he made his own reservations a month in advance. They forgot to put it in the books. On top of that, half the food ordered from the menu was not available because it was out of season (waiter could have mentioned this in taking our orders). Just OK – I didn't have any of their food here this weekend, but some friends and I sat at a bar and had a few of their unique martini's and other fancy drinks. They were very good - not too sweet, and well-balanced overall. The building is very interesting, and this is a very typical New York kind of lounge, so it has a tendency toward pretentiousness. Good, but the bottom line for me is that they seem to take themselves too seriously. One thing I quite like though, is that the place is non-smoking.
