This maze-like Bavarian bar and restaurant is a find you will not forget. How it got here is beside the point; it has practically become an historic treasure. Sample one of the great German beers and do not forget to try the amazing food. The Bratwurst, in particular, is worth a repeat visit. If you are meeting friends, make sure you know in which room to venture in to for it is quite likely for one to get lost here.

Charm of yesteryears memories was very enjoyable. I use to frequent this location 25 years ago and It is still how I remembered. The sausage platter and beer was excellent.
Fun, dope, understated, overstated, all the good stuff, no pretention. Great time!
Según mi esposo , "muy buena cerveza "
Going at the halfway point on my star selection. There are things I love about this place, inlcuding the vibe, the entree plates I've tried (Sauerbraten, Gehacktes Steak) and a beer I love more than I should (Spaten Optimator!). And who doesn't love a sausage platter. But the downside is parking (OK, at least it does have a lot., but I've never found parking) and a mixed bag of service (not always bad, but the times it was bad it was horrific). One more takeaway was a "pizza" that tasted of clay and grease. I couldn't eat mo... read more
We love it here! Had another excellent NewYears Eve afternoon. The staff is always so friendly and fast to get us anything we need. Been going here for years (all times of the year) and we keep bringing more friends! Big thumbs up!
Growing up in Germany 11 years, I am very picky when I eat at German restaurants. Not easily impressed. However, I was not disappointed at The Red Lion Tavern. The good was surprisingly good, atmosphere authentic. Very impressed. Will definitely come again.
I was visiting my brother and decided I wanted to catch up with an old friend. He insisted we go here as our first stop of the night. I was impressed right from the start. We sat at the bar and immediately felt very welcome. Liberty was tending the bar and we became fast friends. As the night went on, she played a lot of great songs on her playlist. We shared a lot of great stories and by the end of her shift she thanked us for making her day a good one. We stuck around for a couple more hours talking to people from around t... read more

Love the Red Lion! From the beer to the food to the biergarten, haven't been to any other German pub in LA I'd rather go.
