When I come to Shelby to visit my family, I make a stop at Red Bridge's BBQ to pick up two orders of barbeque pork for my two children and their families. Living in the Adirondacks of New York we don't get barbeque like this. This time I introduced my New Jersey fiance to North Carolina barbeque and he liked it a lot but fell in love with hush puppies. And Momma B's Grilled Pimento Cheese sandwich was his first time eating pimento cheese and he liked it as well.

As good as I remembered, bbq is great and service is quick and friendly.
We wanted a little local experience after arriving in North Carolina. And boy howdy, we found it!

Great bbq and great family . My favorite place to visit when in town
One of the worse BBQ restaurants my wife and I have visited. BBQ had little taste, baked beans were so bland and coleslaw was not good. I am sorry to have to write this but it was recommended to us by someone from Blackburg. I have judged BBQ in SC and this was sooo disappointing and especially for the price. The best BBQ, IMHO is the Smokin Pig in Pendleton near Clemson ( and I am a Gamecock). Go try that and compare. I seldom write reviews but felt I had to.

GREAT North Carolina BBQ and was a big blessing a couple of Saturdays ago stopping in Shelby, NC on the way from Asheville, NC to Charlotte, NC !!! Coming all the way from Arkansas to visit, great Southern Hospitality and excellent service.
