Recording Workshop (RECW) is a music recording school. Founded in 1977, we are the industry leader in HANDS-ON training. Our programs are short-term (5-7 weeks), very intense and creative. Our students come from all over the world to learn professional methods of tracking, mixing and producing music in the studio. We have a great private campus, with well-equipped studios and very affordable on-campus housing.

Attended Summer '05, still one of the best experiences of my life. I still use the skills learned at RECW on a regular basis; would love to go back and take the advanced program. However, I wish the staff/curriculum would have concentrated on live sound a little more because this is the area of the field in which grads are most likely to find work.
Wow! I can't believe it has been 20 years! Great people, great great experience and training.
Went there in spring '94. Had a great time. 99% analog. Learned how to splice tape and such. Only dissapointment: In their brochures they said they would help us find a job in the industry. Turned out this only applied to americans. Travelled to the other side of the globe to find this out. Not cool.
My brother, Roger Daugherty attend your school back in 1978. The knowledge he as well as experience he walked away with has changed his life in many positive ways. I look forward to attending one-day myself when finances will accommodate.

No more razor blade editing tho glad that went away. The trailers we stayed in were some of the sketchiest places I have ever stayed survi... read more
