This is possibly the finest Chinese restaurant in the Twin Cities. Family-owned and run, the Rainbow boasts time-tested recipes and a rich interior. Seafood is one of the specialties of the house, but the place does a lot for vegetarians, too. Pan-fried vegetable dumplings make the perfect appetizer. much overrated. Service was excellent, but food was mediocre and MUCH too expensive for the portions they serve.
Excellent to say the least – I have continually eaten here and each time the food is superb. High quality meats are used as well as a variety of great seasonings. Defintely the best Chinese in Minneapolis. It can get crowded, so I would highly recommend reservations.
every body loves somebody – they have only one recipe that is served in 40 different ways. It looks like veritey but is not. If you don't like choice than go. The fun noodles are not and niether is the waite staff. "everybody goes there so it hase to be good"
Pot of Gold at the end of the Rainbow – Wonderful!!! The service is FANSTASTIC, the food is FANTASTIC and the variety of good "adult beverages" is outstanding. The only thing I would like changed is the price... but don;t we always think things are too expensive anyway?
not only is the food fantastic.. – but the music is perfect for the lightly dimmed setting and so is the service. you can't go wrong - everything is great and you'll be coming back for more.
OVER RATED! – This place is over rated! I don't understand how they can get such business. The food is OK..but I think it's over priced...and its really not that good. I think it's just a place to be seen at...nothing else is special about the cooking.
Chowmein anyone? – People just don't get it. Why does this place get nominated every year? The food sucks, the service is lousy and the price is ridiculously high. If you want Chinese food, head north on Nicollet to Seafood Palace or Chan's. Rainbow is good for chowmein and chop suey.
Chow mai fun!!! – THIS IS THE BEST CHINESE IN TOWN--THE AMBIANCE AND SERVICE ARE TOP NOTCH--THE WEEKEND BARTENDER IS VERY FOXY AND THE COCKTAILS ARE YUMMY. TO SAY NOTHING OF THE AMAZING FOOD--MY FAVORITES ARE THE SINGAPORE CHOW MAI FUN AND THE SPICY PORK WITH CILANTRO AND THE SHRIMP WITH CANDIED WALNUTS. ABSOLUTELY NOT TO BE MISSED!
good, cheap – Probably the best chinese food I've had in Minneapolis. And the price is right.
