Rapides Regional Medical Center is the most racist unprofessional “hospital” I’ve ever been to. I will NEVER step foot in in here again.
RecommendedThank you RRMC ER staff for taking wonderful care of me. I looked like a fool passing out in the er from a dog bite. It was a crazy night and yet I was treated with excellent care. From the Nurses , radiology department and FNP , every staff member was kind, patient and helpful !! Thank you thank you !!

I brought my husband here August 14th after he flipped his 4 wheeler at mudfest. His shoulder was dislocated. After they did a x-ray they said they could see a broke fragment. They said he need a CT SCAN. He was screaming in excruciating pain and they wouldn't put his shoulder back in place. After hours the nurse came in and told him he needed to put his arm down for the scan he told her he can't it would go down. she called him a wuss tapped his head down and forced his arm down. The security at this hospital is completely inadequate. I have witnessed several homeless men approach women on the sidewalk and in the doorways of the hospital numerous times. I have intervened on occasion and have never seen security come outside, or stand guard while patients and staff enter and leave. most of the time they are sitting in a chair about to fall asleep. I do not recommend this place. Nothing in that place is worth my family's well being

My father was admitted on July 4th and was sedated and intubated in the very early morning of July 6th. I was his next of kin and yet was ignored and talked down to like I was an idiot. Every request made or question asked was met with disdain and malice. My father was allowed to slowly wither the following 6 days he was in this hospitals care. I have never felt so disrespected by ER staff. I had surgery on the 15th was back in the ER the 15th in the evening and 16th for extreme pain. On the 15th they promised me once that I was in a room my husband could come back I was in placed in the dirtiest room ever around 11:00 PM. Never seen my husband until 6:30AM. I asked someone to call his cell but they said that was against policy. The front desk kept telling him I wasn't ready yet. the er staff is beyond rude I know many go in there and its non emergency but I when I walk in with a 1 year old bloody head and a bad cut they make me sit down wait and wait to tell me be patient there are other things that are more important I lost all respect for them at this rate the hospital will lose so many people I took him to his Dr and she said he for sure needed two stitches absolutely insane

my nurse was wonderful, however, Dr Daigle (sp?) never introduced himself, questioned my sinburn bc i have the flu (bc apparently you can't get a sunburn before the ypur diagnosis), diagnosed me with pneumonia. Never read my past medical history/current meds, and lied to my face saying he had been in several times but I was out of room (I was ppo jt for urinalysis and chest xray, and to use restroom). before he sakd this the nurse informed me he was waiting on test results before coming to see me.
