I was diagnosed with familial PAH in May 2015. My Mom died from PH in 1999. I was never aware that it could be hereditary. My Grandmoher died from Lupus when my Mom was 17. Wondering if she had PH too! I am currently taking sildenafil & Letaris but not feeling any improvement. If anything the med side effects are killing my joints & suffer from back pain if I delay taking the sildenafil after 4 hours. I was diagnosis with pph in 1994.I was passing out every where. I did not know what was wrong with me. Went to the Dr.He say that I was only come ing to get disabled. But I know that I was sick. Went home pass out .Went to another Dr. He toke test and told me I had pph.He was the best Dr. I know.Also had heart surgery in1995'
I was diagnosed with pulmonary arterial hypertension a year ago. It has been a life change for me. I find my life style to be very limited. I have never come across anyone that's familiar with this chronic lung disease . The medical field and general public need to be made more aware . It took me 2years to get a diagnosis and by then I was going into heart failure. Even my Primary care physician has little or no experience with this condition
