Opened in 1771 by Colonel Ebenezer Crafts, the Publick House Historic Inn offers a charming and historical stay. The inn was used during the American Revolution as a training ground for soldiers and rumor has it that George Washington even stopped by. RecommendedMy husband and I were married on 12/31/19 in Sturbridge. We needed a last minute venue for a very small reception after the ceremony. Amber went above and beyond to help us book the ballroom. She even had special menus printed to celebrate our special day. We are beyond thankful. They food was delicious and the space was exactly what we wanted. Thank you!

AWESOME for a wedding - everyone super helpful and the venue is decorated beautifully. The bridal suite and rooms were awesome. Brunch the next day was delicious. The pecan rolls alone are worth dining there for! Can't say enough great things about the place and the staff there!
We had a wonderful experience there right after Christmas and would love to stay there again. We recommend this Inn highly. Our room was large and attractive. The meals were great. And staff were always helpful. And it was nice to see the Inn so nicely decorated for the Christmas and New Year season.

This is the best place for Christmas Dinner Buffet bar none. A festive atmosphere with sumptuous selections. I had clam chowder, shrimp cocktail, roasted cod, prime rib with roasted potatoes, green beans & sausage cornbread stuffing. And that wasn't all the selections. plus assorted deserts.
The staff was very nice. I love the historic country decor. And the food was delicious.
The food is fabulous and the service friendly and professional.
We hosted our wedding and reception at the Publick House and the staff went above and beyond to make our special day one to remember. Every one of the staff members we met and who served our guests were wonderful, professional and helpful! A special shout out to Jen, Allison, Shauna, and Amber for all that they did to ensure that our wedding and reception were just as we envisioned. Every single detail was attended to and cared for. And the Inn was decorated beautifully for the holidays. Added bonus! Thank you!
