We are a bike shop, but we try to be more than that. The most important thing to us is that you get on a bike and ride to your heart’s content. We want to make sure you get on the best bike for you. Thursday nights we’re open late. Come over for food, drinks, and conversation! We have comfortable couches and a charming staff. Most of all, we have really cool customers. Come in and meet them: recreational cyclists, roadies, commuters, mountain bikers, cyclocross racers, fixed-gear fans and everyone in between.

Excellent service. I brought my bike in when my shifter cable suddenly broke while riding. The folks at Proteus looked at it and started working on it right away. It also happened to be potluck night, so they fed me while I hung out with the great folks there. By the time I was ready to go home, my bike was fixed and ready. The best bike repair experience I've ever had. The shop has a very inviting, family-like atmosphere.
Just went on a long mud ride on the C&O Canal after having my Cannondale 29er properly fitted by Laurie. The ride was so much more comfortable that I felt as though I had a new bike. Thanks Laurie for your great work!
