We are a bike shop, but we try to be more than that. The most important thing to us is that you get on a bike and ride to your heart’s content. We want to make sure you get on the best bike for you. Thursday nights we’re open late. Come over for food, drinks, and conversation! We have comfortable couches and a charming staff. Most of all, we have really cool customers. Come in and meet them: recreational cyclists, roadies, commuters, mountain bikers, cyclocross racers, fixed-gear fans and everyone in between.

Proteus Bicycles is great for multiple reasons. They were so helpful and knowledgeable in choosing my new bike, and I loved the bikes they had in stock. Had a fantastic day hunting down a bike, test riding it, and taking it home to NYC. This bike shop was worth every mile of the drive. Everyone at Proteous is truly lovely. They set me up with everything I need, answered all of my questions and fit me correctly on my new bike. I look forward to coming back for some coffee. I can’t speak highly enough of this shop! Took my '99 mountain bike in for some work this week. They thoughtfully helped to identify the best things to do to keep it going, making recommendations that were better and cheaper than my initial assessment of what may be needed. They take pride in their work, helping their customers in determining what is best for their individual situation. I can't recommend this shop enough. As a side note, I took my bike out for my morning ride today after they completed the work on it yesterday. It rode better than it had in YEARS!

Great shop! Excellent service on previous bikes over the past several years. When it was time for a new bike, the staff helped me sort through many options to pick one well-suited to my riding. Very knowledgeable, and they take the time to get to know your goals and needs. Highly recommend!
