this is the place – I was that guy. The not-quite-old-guy-who-should-give-up-the-long hair-and-rejoin-society. I hadn't cut my hair in almost ten years. Mel has not only a great personality, She has great techniques for cutting and dyeing hair! I fully recommend calling and making an appointment with her. She wont let you down!

Jen has been my hair stylist/colorist for many years. I have been a blond, brunette, red head and back to blond. Throughout all of these changes, Jen has made each one my best look. She can perform miracles with color correction-never needed it myself as I only let her do my color. Jen is also fantastic at creating the perfect "updo" for any special occasion. Mel knows her stuff – I've been trying for 15 years to grow out a full head of long blue hair. One hair dresser after another has fried my hair over and over again. When I came to Portland 4 years ago my last hair disaster had burned my hair off at the root. I literally had an inch of frazzled hair left. Mel has been doing my hair since. Get your hair done here by Meleni – I saw someone downtown with some really killer hair. I actually went up the the person and asked who did her hair. She gave me Meleni's card. I must say being in the fashion industry myself I can't believe i've never heard of her. Incredible! My hair has never looked or felt better ever! Meleni is the most skilled stylist i've seen. – I was referred to Meleni by a co-worker of mine that always has amazing hair. I've tried many salons in Portland and have never met someone so talented. Her skill level is unbeatable and the rest of the staff is quite nice too. I love the atmosphere here. I can't believe how affordable her prices are which makes it nice in these economic times. I will never trust anyone but Meleni with my hair. She's the BEST!!!!!

SCOTT KANE IS FLAWLESS – Scott is amazing. He is talented, casual, and honest about your cut ideas/wants. The salon has a chill vibe, you don't feel "uncool" to be there, and he is a true professional. He has good prices, he is relaxed, and has more talent than anyone who has ever cut my hair. He is one of the very top stylists in Portland, hands down. .......I just wish it were easier to make an appointment.
