It’s beautiful any time of the year. I’ve gone many times and feel safe every time. 😊
I’ve been to many places in the world and one of my favorite is Nuevo Progreso. I have to admit I’m a little bias since I lived in South Texas for many years during my younger years so I have some fond memories. I love the atmosphere, food, drink and most of all the people.

Nice little crossing over Rio Grande to New Progresso, which seem to primarily House Dentists and related Orthodontist businesses, 1 Veterinary hospital, several shops, mini bars, small restaurants, and hoards of fun street vendors. Be prepared to bargain, some beyond 50%. And liquor is not much cheaper than US; however when crossing back into Texas, they charge $7.50/gallon tax, which killed ththe deal for me. Regardless had a fun trip.
With the exception of US Customs doing their best to do their job everything went as expected. We had a great time in Mexico.
