RecommendedWhat can I say about Progreso, Mexico... well I'm from the valley! I grew up in a town 10 minutes away from this border town, you can find fresh corn tortillas, huge Mexican avocados, silver jewelry, soccer jerseys, all kinds of prescription drugs way cheaper, great food and lots of fun little shops and bars, street vendors, dentists and much more. People are super friendly and yes it's safe to drive or walk across this border town 🤗

A little busier than normal but it was due to the Holiday. There were still plenty of Margaritas and choices of places to eat. The street vendors offer countless amounts of opportunities for shopping; not to mention the stores. And have never had any issues with customs even with stuff to declare. A very safe destination for a day trip.
Long lines, not clean, and a horrible “front door” into our country. We are a greater nation than this bridge and entry point is.
