My husband and I love to go have lunch at Rene's Restaurant & Bakery. We have never tried anything but their delicious Milanesa. The sweet bread also looks great but theres never room for a piece because of the huge Milanesa we've just had for lunch. We then stop and get his & hers pedicures at a place called Beauty Shop Bella's...ladies are very friendly and their business nice and clean. If you do stop by ask for "Mari" she gives the best foot massage ever. We enjoy our trip to Progresso�
First time coming to this side of the border. Everything was very smooth, prices beyond cheap for the most part. Dentists all over entrance. We had such a great time and came back filled with candy, treats, gifts, meds, etc. Safest place I'd say to tour. Came back 2nd time in 1 week and brought my kids with me. Felt comfortable. At the international bridge, all went smoothly. Very clean places to eat, food is delicios, true Mexican food. Loved it! Definitely coming back.
The launches at Ponchos were delicious!! The meds were very inexpensive and of good quality. The dentist we saw Dr. Xavier was the best implants at 1/3 to 1/4 the price of U.S. dentists. No problems coming through customs. By far the best experience at a border town I've ever had!
We had a great time in Nuevo Progresso. We felt very safe and had no problems going into or out of Mexico. The food was delicious, the people were friendly and helpful. We bought lots of items at discount prices. We will definately be going back! Loved, loved, loved, the weather!
I just go to eat Victors tacos and lonches they the best.
The operations at this border crossing run smoothly and Nuevo Progreso is the safest of places on the border. In this place trouble will not find you unless you look for it. Mostly high quality products for very little above the vendor's cost. It is a very nice place, not the "party town" like Reynosa or Matamoros.
