I've been going to Dr. Proano for years, and I have zero complains about him. He has always taken care of my back pain. since the last time I saw him, I changed jobs and insurance. I called Dr. Fabian Proano’s office today to schedule an appointment after receiving an authorization from my referring physician. The receptionist/office manager, Sandra, asked what insurance I had. I explained that I have Blue Shield of California Promise Health Plan through Medi-Cal and that I had an authorization number. She repeatedly asked whether my plan was an HMO, but instead of explaining why she needed that information, she continued asking the same question in a way that felt dismissive and disrespectful. After I visited the clinic, I felt emotionally affected by the encounter. I perceived a sense of unfriendliness from the doctor, which led me to question whether it was influenced by my race. During the appointment, he mentioned, "I hope I don't have to see me no more," which left me feeling discouraged about returning for future appointments. This experience has made me reconsider the importance of attending follow-up visits when faced with such treatment.

Dr Proano is an excellent physician and I see I always receive excellent care from him and his staff. Linda is a very caring nurse.

I highly recommend Dr. P. He is one of the most competent in his field. Staff is nice and friendly -- They will go above and beyond to help you.
