We were just in town overnight and happened upon Prairie Canary. Starters with our meal were apple salad, canary salad, and chili; all were excellent! Then our entrees came out: sirloin with asparagus, salmon sandwich, and sweet potato black bean burger; these were just as fabulous as the starters! We would highly recommend giving this place a try!!
My family and I were very pleased with the excellent service we received at Prairie Canary. The Ground Hog sandwich (BBQ pork) was absolutely amazing, as were the salmon sandwich, apple salad, and Saigon steak salad. My preschoolers loved the cheese pizza and seasoned french fries. We will definitely be back!
Good food, good service...certainly recommend others give it a try and check out this great Iowa small town!
I thoroughly enjoyed your Cajun shrimp with grits Sunday. I really like the taste of salt and didn’t need to add any, but others without that taste might’ve found it overly seasoned. Might I suggest instead of a little green pepper pieces as garnish, a sweet red pepper or perhaps parsley— something of a lighter nature. We are from Washington County, but will be back!
Everything was excellent. Loved the pan fried duck with rosemary, brussel sprouts in balsamic vinegar, and buttery carrot spears as seen on Iowa Ingredient on IPTV. Tomato feta soup was out of this world. Triple berry framboise with home ice cream was to die for.
What's not to love about Praire. The food, people, and service are great!
Food was good. But they over charged me and granted we had a 10 people it took us an hour to get our food. With the automatic tip my 13$ burger turned into 21$. I would come back if I knew they would of been a little quicker and they would make sure I wouldnt get over charged.
This is definitely a hidden treasure! The service was amazing and the food was out of this world! We came for lunch and will be back for Sure! The many craft beers are excellent.
all around awesome place to eat and try out new beers!
