Located in the heart of Capitol Hill, this charming spot is small and cluttered with tables. The atmosphere borders on chaos, with the staff flying about in a ballet of food service. Potager, which means "kitchen garden," can challenge the ears with its booming ambiance. But this is quite possibly the friendliest dining spot in the area. The menu, which is always changing, features chicken, tenderloin, pork and fish dishes. The wine list is extensive and the dessert selection often features berry cobblers and tarts, the perf... read more

Eclectic Experience – The decor at Potager suggests a starving artist cooks here, and his art is excellent cuisine. The incongruity between the ambiance (very casual) with the food (very sophisticated) is actually refreshing. No pretension here, just great dishes served by friendly, professional, down to earth people. The menu changes often but we started with a lemon souffle with crab sauce (a journey of texture and flavor) and a simple mushroom spinach salad with sauteed salami (wonderful). Our entrees were Asian spiced sh... read more
service – The appetizers on the menu are surprisingly different to other restaurants. We tried the pear and figs - fantastic. For entrees we tried the Halibut fish special and the Pork Chop. The haibut was well received while the Pork Chop itself was tasty, the winners on the plate are the squash and the salad. For desert, we ordered the pumpkin pie (jammy!) and the chocolate mouse (very disappointing & hard to eat). The waiter's response and handling of the disappointing chocolate mouse was disappointing and may have an imp... read more
Repeater – We have been there many many times. The revolving menu is always interesting. It is a little loud all brick and wood and metal. But, the flavors are unbelievable. I have had pheasant, grouper, lamb, chicken, beef and pork all prepared in ways I have never experienced. The service is awesome, the wine list more than adequate, the food leaves little to be desired. GO.
great food, excellent service... – I went with a friend last week and we absolutely loved it. I was worried that we were dressed too casually, but the decor was more casual than I expected, and over all feeling was very down to earth. We were seated outside and had the best service I've ever had in Denver- attentive, friendly, knowledgable wait staff...not pretentious at all. The food was amazing- total bill was less than we expected it would be. We'll definately go again!
A restaurant you hate to love – I have a love-hate relationship with Potager. Every entree or appetizer I've ever ordered there has been insanely priced and tiny in portion, but undeniably delicious. I tend to be of the school that if I'm paying twenty dollars for my meal, it had better be proportionately sized to what I spend. Trust me, you wont get that at Potager. But what you will get are diminutive portions of extremely flavorful and tantalizing food. Potager grows its own fresh herbs on its back patio, giving its dishe... read more
