Located in the heart of Capitol Hill, this charming spot is small and cluttered with tables. The atmosphere borders on chaos, with the staff flying about in a ballet of food service. Potager, which means "kitchen garden," can challenge the ears with its booming ambiance. But this is quite possibly the friendliest dining spot in the area. The menu, which is always changing, features chicken, tenderloin, pork and fish dishes. The wine list is extensive and the dessert selection often features berry cobblers and tarts, the perf... read more

Foodies flock to this Capitol Hill spot for the fresh contemporary cuisine and trendy atmosphere. – In Short Clatter from the open kitchen echoes throughout the spacious, high-ceilinged dining room, which features large windows, wine racks and an elegant wine bar. The outdoor patio houses fresh herbs and vegetables. The eclectic menu is seasonally inspired: hearty vegetables are incorporated during winter, vibrant greens and fresh fruit are used through the growing season. The signature souffle includes flavors of goat chees... read more
The old standby, yet always exciting! – Potager never disappoints. The menu changes seasonally, the food is always nothing short of excellent, the service is head and shoulders above anything else in Denver, the wine list is great... I discovered Potager five years ago, and have been there many times since. It is my favorite restaurant in Denver, bar none.
User review by kstabor – Excellent place for a romantic dinner, and atmosphere is a plus. But my entree was cold, and while they accomodated and reheated it, it still didn't taste right. This isn't the quality of food that I'd expect while "fine dining."
a gem in Denver – Don't be deterred by the one person's review - this place is amazing. I just moved to Denver a few months ago, and after living in great food towns like Seattle and SanFran, was pleased to find a calibre restaurant like this. It has become a mainstay for me - great food, wine, service.
Rippeto Ripoff – What a disappointment!!! High prices, skimpy portions, creativity run amok! Tasteless pasta, mussels in a sauce that tasted like saurkraut, several raviolis that would not satisfy a chikd, arugula salad carelessly prepared and only small appetizer size. If it were not for the bread, we would have walked away hungry and a $100 lighter. The restaurant space was attractive and we thought we were in for a Berkeley gourmet experience. I think I will dine at Whole Foods the next time I am in Denver and save my mon... read more
tres so-so – While some select dishes were really wonderful, others were incredibly mediocre. For the money and the wait (nearly one hour), one would expect much better. Furthermore the service was really spotty and the wines we tried were similarly mediocre. We really wanted to support a place like this which supports local farming, but it really was just not all that good. The preceding was written by my wife - much the diplomat. Let me add that my pork was a bit of a salt lick and my tart crust was straight out of betty-c... read more
Deliciously Disappointed – The atmosphere of the restaurant was wonderful, I loved it the minute I set foot in the door. However, the menu was a bit disapointing. Most of the menu consisted of appitezers that were quite pricy with such small portions. As delicious as they were, with portions that small and the price so high I will most likely be back to sip wine on the patio on a Saturday afternoon.
I go back again and again – The food is always a treat. It's fresh, it's local, it's seasonal. There's always something new, and always some old favorites on the menu. The wine is always well-chosen. I love the room. This is my favorite restaurant in Denver. I can't begin to count the number of times I've been there.
Excellent by NYC / SF standards – The interior is well designed, minimal but solid. The food and service are just as smart. Some diners come in t-shirts; Ive also seen a full-length fur. Everyone is made comfortable and gets great food. Meals at Potager make me feel like Im in a city that holds its restaurants to higher standards.
