Even if you have insurance the emergency room doctors will balance bill you. My husband was "treated" in the ER in August and my insurance company is still fighting the bill on my behalf. The only reason I am giving 3 stars instead of 1 is because of the fantastic care and compassionate staff at the Cancer Center. The worst of it is I feel stuck using this hospital even though I don't want to because I need a surgical procedure and the person I feel is best to do it is only affiliated with Portneuf. Horrible experience seen the doc at first the was discharged without seeing him and no explanation of what they were treating me for would rather drive to Blackfoot or idaho falls before I step foot in this hospital again

The NICU is Fantastic!!! I had a baby in Burley but he had problems and they transported him to the NICU at Portneuf. The nursing staff in there was wonderful and they seemed very passionate about what they do, it wasn't just a job to them. Doctor Hart and Doctor O'Donnell are great. Everyone is really good about telling you goals and risks and just keeping you updated at all times. They encourage you to call in whenever you want to check on your baby. I went to the ER and it was the first time in my life I had ever been treated with dignity & care!! Every person that helped me was phenomenal! I can't even express it! We drove 3 hours to come due to the lack of respect of my other ER options where I live in Utah. Thank you soo much for the staff that was there & helped me..11.22.14.
