In 1891, the Oregon legislature created the Port of Portland to dredge a shipping channel from Portland to the Pacific Ocean. It now owns five marine terminals, four airports and seven business parks in the Northwest United States. The port also owns and operates the dredge Oregon, which helps maintain the current 40-foot-deep navigation channel on the lower Columbia and Willamette rivers. Hillsboro airport traffic (managed by Port of Portland) has increased significantly over the last month since OAW re-filed their lawsuit. Air traffic has increased 2x, if not more. Flight patterns have changed so now flights are flying directly over houses every 5-10mins. Flights continue until late at night, some nights as late as 1am, then start at 7am or earlier.
