In 1891, the Oregon legislature created the Port of Portland to dredge a shipping channel from Portland to the Pacific Ocean. It now owns five marine terminals, four airports and seven business parks in the Northwest United States. The port also owns and operates the dredge Oregon, which helps maintain the current 40-foot-deep navigation channel on the lower Columbia and Willamette rivers. The Port repaired the damaged Hillsboro NE Tees electric gate, turns out they had to sink new posts, replace the gate and the actuator mechanism. Their public affairs rep called me several times with updates and again when the gate was repaired. Nice service, thanks.
