Since 1953, The Port Drive-In has been serving hot dogs and frosty mugs of creamy, old-fashioned root beer. Originally called Studman’s, it was purchased in 1957 by Elsie & Virgil Gassoway, renamed the Snack Shack, and then renamed to its current name, The Port. In 1978, Terry & Beth Gassoway purchased the business from Terry’s parents after managing it for them for several years. The service was horrible and the waitress was rude. Will never come back. We got frosted mugs and they wasn't frosted a bit.
This reminds me of the old A&W when I was a Kid! This really COOL!

Thanks to all who posted kind words. We'll be back soon to start our 58th season. As always, we'll strive to provide good food & service. Our first step is to call back our lovely employees from last year, and recruit some new ones.
We all found it to have delicious food and very friendly service. Would go back again. They have been in business since 1957 and still going strong. that tells you something. And gives our young people a summer job!! Great!!! Out of Dunn NC will visit them again.
