Ponchatoulas was founded in February 1996, by original owner Johnny Gaudet, who then partnered with Chris Garriga in 2004. With a passion for good food and fun, Gaudet opened the restaurant on the bustling Park Avenue in downtown Ruston. The building housed a fire station in the early 1900's, complete with the big red fire truck and even horse-drawn carriages lining the downtown streets. Fast speedy and plentiful meals I love love it !!!
Waitress only came to check on us one time. Other than that, food was great.
This was my first time in the area, and I wanted authentic Cajun style food. This place was highly recommended, so I gave it a try. It's located in a cute part of town, and I felt safe walking around. The atmosphere is nothing special, but comfortable. I had Boudin balls as an appetizer, and they were delicious.
