Ponchatoulas was founded in February 1996, by original owner Johnny Gaudet, who then partnered with Chris Garriga in 2004. With a passion for good food and fun, Gaudet opened the restaurant on the bustling Park Avenue in downtown Ruston. The building housed a fire station in the early 1900's, complete with the big red fire truck and even horse-drawn carriages lining the downtown streets. Grammy and I had Ponchatoulas cater Stephen N Ashley 's Rehearsal Dinner at Lulu's Lake House. Even with the delivery driver's GPS sending him on other side of lake( we had guests also have trouble finding the place) the food was delivered hot and on time. They set everything up for us. Catfish Platter was great! My parents were visiting for the weekend from Texas and they greatly enjoyed everything!

Wasn't impressed at all. Got the fried catfish platter. Fish wasn't seasoned well. Tea could have been better. But really enjoyed my company. My oldest son and his family.
