About this business
Ponchatoulas was founded in February 1996, by original owner Johnny Gaudet, who then partnered with Chris Garriga in 2004. With a passion for good food and fun, Gaudet opened the restaurant on the bustling Park Avenue in downtown Ruston. The building housed a fire station in the early 1900's, complete with the big red fire truck and even horse-drawn carriages lining the downtown streets. We were visiting Ruston for a baseball tournament and stopped for lunch. Excellent food and service! Will definitely be back!!
Stuffed catfish was awesome! Service was good. If I'm ever down this way again I will definitely go back.
Crawfish Poboy and fried pickles are all that is right in the world.
Great food, mediocre service. Ordered 2 types of hot appetizers which were great but brought no plates.

We appreciate your feedback. We would have happily replaced those meat pies for you if you would have mentioned this to your waitress. We definitely don't want our guests having to eat food that was not cooked properly. Hopefully you won't let the missing plates and appetizer mishap keep you guys from visiting with us again. :)
One of my favorite places to eat. Love to eat there when I am in Ruston.
I ate the stuffed catfish and we had boudin balls appetizer and it was great! Service was great as well! Look forward to next trip back to here!
We had the oyster & shrimp poboy with onion rings. Very tasty!The cup of seafood gumbo was great. Finished the meal with bread pudding with praline sauce. Aaaammmmaazzing!!! Had to bring half of the poboy home.
