About this business
Ponchatoulas was founded in February 1996, by original owner Johnny Gaudet, who then partnered with Chris Garriga in 2004. With a passion for good food and fun, Gaudet opened the restaurant on the bustling Park Avenue in downtown Ruston. The building housed a fire station in the early 1900's, complete with the big red fire truck and even horse-drawn carriages lining the downtown streets. I had a cheeseburger with smoked bacon and it was delicious. Nice big burger. Cooked just right.

A very busy Saturday, the hostess searched to find my table of 6 and made one up, and my waitress Katie was fantastic. I'm so impressed with the customer service on a bust Saturday, I would absolutely hate to work a game day with all the people coming in. These girls need a raise! And the bartender makes very good drinks!
Gumbo was kickin!! Pass on the fried oysters until they learn to cook em.

Stopped by for lunch with my wife and son. They had been there before, but it was my first time eating there. The service was good and the food was awesome. I will definitely be returning soon and very often.

Only had drinks here, but they were good. Great atmosphere!
Enjoyed our gameday visit. Service was very good despite a very crowded restaurant. We enjoyed the appetizers we ordered. We were to early for lunch. Shelby was our server and never stopped working Great place.
