Dry Burgers – We went to this restaurant because we LOVE trying out new burger joints and seeing that P.J. Clarke's was on a top ten list...what have we got to lose? First of all...the burgers & fries are separate. Typical. So, I ordered my $8 hamburger to find that it comes on a small plate...ONLY meat & buns with an onion underneath. No lettuce, tomato or dressing...those are separate. The $6 fries come as a side IF you order them. The meat was very dry & crumbly. Outcome...OVERLY priced dry/crumbly burger with no taste. I... read more

Midtown East Invades Upper West – Great to see some history brought to an abandoned corner. I stopped in for lunch one day after just stumbling upon it. What an incredible looking restaurant. I sat at the bar, had a beer and some oysters, then ordered the famous Cheeseburger. Beer was cold on a hot day, the bartender introduced himself which was a nice touch and I don't need much more than that. I sat near the raw bar and the Clam shucker talked me into some oysters. They were refreshing, a little sandy, but to me, sandy is ... read more

Only good due to the proximity to Lincoln Center – Went here for dinner prior to ballet at Lincoln Center. Food is truly terrible, and not that cheap for the quality. Crab cakes (average), filet of sole (sauce was gross maple syrup!!), mussels (sandy, below average)-white wine butter sauce was good tho; house pinot grigio -below average. It does have a great view though and is convenient to Lincoln Center. The bar was crowded with 30s-50s year olds, nice looking crowd. Our waitress was from Ireland and extremely nice.

PJ Clueless – My girlfriend and I went there this afternoon for lunch after having passed by and thinking it looked like a good place to eat, and knowing the history of the original place. It seems like a good place to throw back a beer, but i have to say, from a food perspective, it is the worst. I had a grilled chicken sandwich [with a slice of cheddar, a slice of apple and sweet onion [which weren't]] and she had a Chicken Salad. The sandwich was a tasteless waste bland chicken. To boot, none of the sandwiches come with a... read more

Does not seem to be that clean, food was pretty uneventful – I know there is a history aspect to this place, but I was not impressed at all. My friend loved his burger, by my turkey club simply had no taste. The service was generally good, but the food is not good enough to make me go there again.

Beers cold, food's hot – Great pub atmosphere with an awesome burger that cures all appetites and levels of inebriation. Fun and lively 20-30 somethings crowd.

Editorial Review – A lively crowd enjoys the best of the old and the new in this renovated New York pub and restaurant.

Good burger – I saw their burgers were rated in the top 10 for 2006, so I wanted to find out why. We were seated surprisingly quick, although it was after 1:00 pm. The atmosphere is good and it's definitely a place frequented by the locals, so you knew it was going to be good. The burger was good, but not as good as Shake Shack or Burger Joint. They have many other things to order, plus a special of the day, so you are definitely not locked into the burger. Service was decent and the prices average, by NYC standards.

Great Burger – Really cool lookin bar. Despite the fact that it looked really crowded, I was seated right away. The restaurant really has that old-fashioned NY look. The burger was amazing (so was the buffalo chicken sandwhich- i tried that too!) I really liked the desert tray too!
