Escape to Fino – Our son attends UP, and after the soccer game last night we took him and a couple of his friends out for dinner. We wanted a nearby pizza place, and had read good things about this one. We were pleasantly surprised to find it was really more like an Italian bistro, than just a pizza joint. Pizza by the slice and a small bar out front, candlelight booths and tables in the back dining room. Very nice combo. As for the food, the fried calamari was some of the better in town, rings and tentacles, all very tender... read more
All around Excellent – Without over selling this new Kenton restaurant, I will simply say that this is one of my favorite go-to places for dinner with friends. A great selection of Italian entrees, hand made pizza, sandwiches, salads, and desserts. The pizza and calzones rival those anywhere else in town, seriously. Nice servers, good atmosphere, overall a solid restaurant.
Best Pizza in NoPo and just about P-town all together! – I live in NoPo and now consider myself so super lucky to have Pizza Fino so close. I am pizza stuck up, being from Long Island. My favorites in town are Escape and Hot Lips, but since Pizza Fino came - I can honestly say - they are right up there and might even surpass! That's hard for me to say too cuz I've been a loyal Escape fan for 12 years! Their dough is fabulous, even if it's sat in the pizza box for too long (pizza afficionados - you know what I mean). Perfect ... read more
YUM!! – If only I lived in Kenton, I'd be at Pizza Fino several times a week! Everything I've ever had there has been exceptional. Best pizza in town, even beats Hot Lips, my former favorite. Perfect chewy, thin, tasty crust, never soggy or cardboard-esque. Yummy and creative sandwiches, pastas and other items ( fried zucchini, house-made ricotta, etc..). Lots of veggie/vegan options too! Nice drink menu, good wine & beer selection. Worth the trip across town, but I'd love to see more locations.
Excellent pie – I highly recommend the Pocket Aces pizza pie. Actually, I haven't had anything here I didn't like. I wish they'd bring back the brunch on the weekend... The servers are fun and friendly. Drinks are good and they have patio seating. Kenton is rocking with new restaurants and this is one of my favorites. Try the calamari and a cosmo!
Best pizza in Portland, there I said it! – Aficionados of New York pizza, or those of the New Haven Sally's & Pepe's crowd will adore Pizza Fino. The crust is flavorful and well-cooked. Bubbling up and browned in places but not overdone. You can get a nice big slice or a whole pie. I recommend getting a whole pie and dining in so you can have the fresh out of the oven experience. Wide variety of toppings for those who want to design their own; as well as several in-house combos-- I recommend the BC Baby and the New Heaven. T... read more
Great Pizza, Great pasta dishes, must have tiramisu! – What more can you want in an Italian restaurant? We've been there twice in the last 2 weeks already. Finally, great pizza by the slice in North Portland! We've also tried the meatball hoagie, lasagne and penne pasta which were all awesome. Good portions and even better as left overs! The service was good and my kids were welcomed; although there is no childrens menu, which was a down side. The servers were very friendly and prompt. The only critique I have is that the ce... read more
good pizza, but you'll pay for it – got a pie to go last week after reading about the place in one of the local rags 'cheap eats' section. the pizza was one of the best thin crust pies i've had in quite a while, but it was priced more like a gourmet pizza than what i would consider cheap eats, at almost $25 for three toppings. i was going to get a salad, but they only have them with a tossed vinagarette, no dressing selection. i'd recommend them for their pizza, but be prepared to pay for it.
Needs some tuning up – Went here for the first time on a Thursday night. Place was 3/4 full. They have a menu filled with options between pizzas, sandwiches, and pasta dishes. Also they have an interesting cocktail menu with a good selection of beers and wines. I had the Fino Roll ( a mini pizza rolled up to a roll and then baked). It was very tasty. Only complaint was that the service was a bit slow and waitress brought out bill without asking if I wanted anything else. Would go there again.
