We visited family basically. We had a wonderful day and will consider buying a camper there now! There is SO much for the kids to do! :)

Don't expect your reservation that u prepaid to mean anything. Entire bill was prepaid for a villa in January, however, upon arrival had a balance due from an increase to Horry County income tax. We were not notified. I called the tax office & they said the resort was responsible for notifications. Been coming here for over 30 years, park is changing & not for the better.

Our family loves Pirateland from the time you pull into the front gate the greaters are friendly and welcoming then you step into the front office to check-in and everyone is so happy to see you they will chat with you or speedily send you on your way if your anxious to set yourselves up. The campsites are spacious no problem parking the second car if needed. Just love the new bath houses true resort style. The pool area is very clean plenty of chairs and tubes for the lazy river. Our first experience at Pirateland was overall positive! The amenities were great! I was disappointed in our site. We booked for a week inland for some shade. Our site had no shade and after the weekend many sites opened up with shade. Would have thought they would have placed a week long reservation in a more shaded spot. Also they were repairing the beach entrance so we had to walk much further to the alternative entrance. This could have been done before the season began.
