Best in Houston – My family has decided that Pino's is the only restaurant in Houston that we could recommend to anyone - native or visitor - without fear that someone could be disappointed. We have never had a bad experience at Pino's. This should be a 'must do' for all.
So many reasons to love it! – Point blank, if you LOVE restaurants where you have to yell to be heard, don't go here. If you enjoy a quieter, more romantic, more traditional type of italian dining, you MUST go to Pino's. Everyone in my family from ages 10 to 93 love it!! Wonderful food and worth a trip for the atmosphere alone! :)
Great Place – This a place to take a date for an old fashion dinner date. Well lit so you can see your food and look into your dates eyes! Food is fantastic and portions are large so you will need a doggie bag.
If you're looking for Old World Italian without any nouveau embellishments, this is your place. – The Scene Italian brothers Pino and Adriano haven't changed much since starting out in 1960 except for a move across town from UH to Hillcroft and a little remodeling. With plastic place mats (map of Italy, naturally), soft, Italian bread and house salad drenched in vinegary dressing, it's the kind of place your grandmother would love. Bright, spacious dining room with plenty of seating. Clientele: regulars seeking the familiar ... read more
Gone Downhill – We have been going to Pino's for a number of years and the quality of service and food have gone downhill. The food does not have the wonderful flavor it used too. And, the waiters seem to be trying to rush you out the door. Also, check on the carafes they are selling to you. In every retaurant I have EVER been too it is a Liter and they are selling you 750 ml. which is the same as a bottle of wine. It ISN'T what you think. SHAME ON YOU PINO!! Sincerely, Disappointed Patron
OK for Old people – We were the only people under sixty there. Quiet ambiance. The food was nothing to rave about. Standard italian fare. Service was good. this would be a good place to take your hard of hearing grandparents.
bad dish – well, i went there a while ago and haven't been back. when i ordered angel hair pasta in a cream tomato sause with grilled shrimp, i wasn't sure they would do that for me, so i asked my waiter and he said it was fine that they could do it, what i got instead was shrimp scampi. and since they were out of angel hair pasta (i'm assuming) what i got with it was some angel hair pasta, blended with spaghetti. i would go back if the waiter had at least explained this to me when he brought back the dish, but instead, he s... read more
The Young, the Old & the Me – Pino's is my favorite italian restaurant. The food is excellent, it is not what I call a cattle drive restaurant where it's loud, lot's of food, and get in and get out! The quality of the food is one of the best - the service very good.
REAL Italian Food – Pino's is just a wonderful resteraunt overall. Clean, affordable, friendly, excellent food, good atmosphere. They have been a Houston fixture many years and their baked ziti in meat sauce is to die for. Anyone that knocks this place obviously does not have good taste themselves in Italian food. Don't take my word for it as far as their food goes, they have numerous articles hanging on their walls of food critics that have given them the highest ratings since the 80's.
