The rangers were most helpful. My dear friend died one mile coming down from the summit. Couldn't get help for 20 minutes. This mountain is not for everyone... If you have a bad heart, breathing issues, overweight, a child under the age of 3 or any medical issue... You have a GREAT chance of dying. You won't find that in the brochures. Absolutely fantastic view and experience! Been here in May 2017 with my mother and sister. We also stopped at a few look out points took as many photos as we could and the beauty of this national park has captured our heart. It was amazing journey. Glad to visit and will definitely recommend it to family and friends.

This drive is a must!!! We went for Fathers Day, a surprise for my husband since the next weekend is the uphill race. He was stoked to drive the course. Luckily I asked about the Fathers Day discount at the entrance gate, saved us 15$ You had to ask about it or they were going to charge us 30$ The views are amazing the drive is thrilling!! No guardrails makes it extra exhilarating! The only problem I see is the fact that some people don't know how to drive in a lower gear. Riding their breaks all the way down, not good.
