Ordered pickup. Order was missing items. Ribs ok, pulled pork ok, chicken ok, roll for sandwich not so great. The corn bread is absolutely horrific and may have been the worst cornbread I have ever tasted.
Today I was in the area and decided to stop in because I was craving some BBQ, especially collard greens. My entire meal came to a little over $30. I will say the employees were very polite and welcoming when I first came in. The ribs were great and the collard greens were really good! We didn’t stay to eat because there were just too many flies and other insects crawling all around the place.
Excellent barbecue! The burnt ends were incredibly tender, smoky, and flavorful. I especially loved the fatty edges—they were rich, juicy, and absolutely delicious. I also ordered the baby back ribs. The pork had a completely different aroma and flavor from the beef, and the meat tasted very fresh. The cornbread was another highlight. First off, let's assume you love BBQ. This place isn't good. It isn't great. I can't even degrade it enough to call it delicious. This mom and pop shop is obscenely delicious! Best BBQ I ever had. If you're in the Meriden CT area and don't go here, you're a fool! Do yourself the favor!
