Though not as large as the Sky Harbor International Airport, the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport functions as a regional airport for those who want to fly on a budget airline. Formerly known as Williams Gateway Airport, it is definitely convenient for residents of the East Valley as well. The only airline that services Gateway is Allegiant Airlines, but it has several low-cost routes around the country. Additionally, the airport has a few car rental companies located in the main terminal.

My military wife daughter and her 2 toddlers aged-18 mos & 2 &1/2 yrs- flew out of here tonight. She was visiting while her husband was in Army training this week. She went thru TSA tonight, they made her remove all the snacks from her carry ons. This was her text to me: No one has ever made me do that. Small, but nicely done airport, and I love that Allegiant has low fares and non-stop service to places I want to get to.

Nice small airport. We have a dog that goes with us on the plane and there’s a small pet area just outside for pets which is very convenient.
Love this airport unfortunately they land in Cincinnati and there ATF makes me stand and take off my brace. Just awful and they don’t care. I e reported three times there won’t be a fourth. I’ll spend the extra $$ money just not to go there.
