Though not as large as the Sky Harbor International Airport, the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport functions as a regional airport for those who want to fly on a budget airline. Formerly known as Williams Gateway Airport, it is definitely convenient for residents of the East Valley as well. The only airline that services Gateway is Allegiant Airlines, but it has several low-cost routes around the country. Additionally, the airport has a few car rental companies located in the main terminal.

Very expensive food and the staff was very unfriendly. Didn't make a pleasant experience for my first time flying.

Quick security. A bit of walking. But overall no complaints.
The security lines were a nightmare! MT belongings were out of my sight, and away from me. UNACCEPTABLE
Very nice and clean airport. Just wish they had more options or workers to get something to eat or drink while waiting.
RecommendedFirst time to Az. from SLC and back. One hr. 7 minutes. Easy in, easy out. Saved so much time. Friendly staff, clean buildings. Very beautiful in Az. Great, except perhaps in times of rain or snow storm in Utah.
Employees were helpful, seemed like they enjoyed being there. The whole facility was clean throughout. No long waits in any lines. Getting in and through security to the gate was fast, but had the feeling that they were keeping us safe. Good model for the larger airports to follow.
This was smooth and almost as fast as the Abu Dhabi experience (which was well under 5 minutes). There was no line up at the check in and only one person ahead of me at security. The whole process was well under 10 minutes and I had arrived about 140 minutes before the scheduled departure time. There was a lovely open air courtyard between the two gate areas with both sun and shade spots. I think bringing food with you if there are any allergy or sensitivity issues is the only downside of this little terminal.
The airport terminal itself has come a LONG way in the last five years!!
