When things go well, your Doctor moves on to next patient. However, the real measure of a physician is how does he react when outcome not so good. This was my problem with Dr Sharkey. There was obviously something wrong with my hip post surgery and he actually seemed annoyed I made follow up spots complaining about my hip, once waiting 2 1/2 hours. Apparently he put in a recalled prosthesis. Ended up going to Penn where i I needed 2 revisions to fix problem. I do not recommend Dr Sharkey.

I just completed one week after my right hip replacement. Five years, every day in pain for me. When I met with Dr. Sharkey he had to tell me the bad news. Although our appointment was quick, he still spent time with me and answered my questions. His office and processes are, by far, the BEST I have ever seen. The Roman Sugerical clinical in Royerfield was also amazing. Nursing and dr there are extremely knowledgeable and caring. Although I was scared, I am so glad it over. Well worth it.
I had bi-lateral knee replacements March of 2014 done by this gifted surgeon and very thankful for my outcome! I was not able to make a round on a stationary bike and struggling to walk every day. He is a top surgeon the BEST, so you will see him once, after surgery you will see Dr. Steve Dirocco his assistant, whom is awesome, very knowledgeable and knows exactly what is going on. I am very thankful for the great doctors at the Rothman! Thank you, thank you! Lisa G.
Dr Sharkey was excellent. Double hip replacement I can walk normally again
You cannot get to the nurse much less Dr. Sharkey. They do not return phone calls.
